Ahoy fellow Sparrow owner. I love the simplicity of your set-up.

I installed my system in a more traditional way using a switch box.

What size, type, and rating of battery are you using?

I have been using a U1, 35 amp-hour, AGM one, but I need to replace it.

Hi Christine --Thanks for the comment. I used a 100 amp sealed lead acid battery , because it was in my garage at the time. I epoxied in a wooden box to contain the battery and two straps to hold it . Will probably add a small solar panel to keep the battery charged.

I would really like to see (or find) a series of articles about simple wiring solutions, written, like this one, along the lines of the KISS principle.

What has been written by others. I see more an more articles where the boats have lots of high tech electronics and how to wire them up, this is refreshingly simple. KISS personified! Eddie has a good point; I too would like to see how a solar battery charging system would be hooked up.

Is there a switch of some kind on the cabin LED light?

As you run the reds and blacks around to thw devices, do they occupy the same sheath or mounting clips,or do the positives and negatives each have their own path to their repective spade strips monted on the battery?

I, too, like the simplicity, but can envision eventually wanting a solar panel w/controllwr to keep the battery charged up.

Cheers!
