Reader Rich Green read our article on the DIY Gimball Cooker and it got him to thinking about stoves he’s had on boats past. He writes:
Coupla pics. Galley stove done from kerosene Optimus I already used. Wood stove built to my design by retired welder over forty years ago. I was old school in those….oh, and these…..days.
Rick Pratt had good things to say about our Island Escape Boat Design Contest. He wrote:
What A superb idea it was to create and host this contest. It was by far the best I have seen in several decades of reading boat scribbling!
Any of these entries could have gotten the nod. all were creative, well thought out, and had entertaining presentations...just top shelf, all the way.

I was using West System long before any of the others came along. The manuals, range of products to fit every situation, and well designed tools have all served me well. No matter what the situation, the epoxy has never failed. I know some of the alternatives are cheaper, but with this history of success, why would I change?
West System for decades. Pumps are great, easy to use. Wonderful technical bulletins. All kinds of choices for hardners and add ins. I guess it’s pricey but I’ve never used huge quantities so it wasn’t an issue.
