I realize everyone's financial situation, boat situation, and life situation is different, so I'll try not to be dogmatic. But 47% of us usually sail alone? How will we get this hobby to spread if we are essentially sailing recluses? We sail the most accessible boats there are--invite someone along!
My Eun Mara is stellar as a solo cruiser, still comfortable with one crew member, pretty tight feeling with two, my maximum sailing so far. Sitting at the dock? Four in the cockpit and one standing in the companionway. Lots of room below decks makes for a wee cockpit, being double ended doesn't help. But I like singlehanding so it works for me.
Me, the wife, and our 2 boys (6&8) fit aboard our compac 19 fairly comfortably. We have lived aboard for a week and I think that’s about the maximum. So far, as our boys get older, they want to go out more and more. Hopefully that trend holds. Not sure how well we will still fit in a few years!
Sirocco15 is great for me and recently had 2 adults and two children out for a sail. It was a little crowded. I think two is the best number for that boat.
Core Sound 20 easily daysails four with no problem.
My MacGregor 19 can easily accommodate 6, and sleep 4. But it's set up for rigging, launching, and running solo, which leaves plenty of space (too much, maybe) down below for gear.
Boats of 18ft+-, should not be expected to accommodate crowds. Having said that, I have sailed with as many as three other adults aboard. I would not try to make a passage that way if it could be avoided.

Tiki 26 (#511) - building in future years. Will no doubt sail alone, but could accommodate two if required.
I have a Com-Pac 16 and can sail with 3 others as long as the winds are moderate. Otherwise, I prefer only one or two others, with sailing experience.

Typically like to have company on trips but I’ve found that if I want to sail more I have do more solo sailing.

These geriatric days I don't even do Yard Sale-ing! :)
Someday the Seabird Yawl (26’) will be done. Likely mostly solo but easily sleeps 2. Maybe 3.

Three or four is a good number. Prefer to have crew, but mine are all aging out.

Out on a TSCA or DCA chapter Cruise, ALONE.
With family, one or two - two Grandkids =1
With a friend, total of two persons aboard.
My Sea Pearl 21 can hold 6, but it's a very tippy ride. Can sleep two, very snugly.
Core Sound 20 can hold 6 no problem. Sleep probably 4, maybe 5, if I ever get around to making platforms.
6 people max
I can sleep six I have a rival32
