Great article, clearly written with diagrams, thanks. Currently rebuilding mine to accept origo alcohol stove. I line the inside with roofing tin. Thanks for sharing.

I understand the urge to build a cook box. I had that urge, too, but kept worrying the hard edges would cause scratches and might be hard to fit into the irregular shapes of my Core Sound. Inspiration: I grabbed an old, moderately sized gym bag. It now holds my jet boil, two burner propane stove, fuel for each, cooking pans and eating dishes, thermo cup, utensils, coffee, oatmeal, hot chocolate and freeze dried food. The soft sides mean I can push it into a corner under the cuddy. I drag it out and cook under the dodger or further back in the open cockpit. No construction was required. Consider it. Very simple and efficient.

I built this stove when this article first appeared. I still have it but no longer have the boat. Still, it would work not only for the boat but also for any camping situation. I still get a ton of comments on it. Thanks for designing it in the first place.

Mike, outstanding article. Thanks for taking the time to produce it so thoroughly . Of course, from you I would have expected nothing less.
