This is one feature that is better in the digital format than paper.

Suggestion 1: Make the months in a different color font so they are easily seen, distinct from the heading for each event.

Suggestion 2: it would be great if you could filter for country or even region. I am in the midwest USA, I don't need to see the UK events, and I'm sure vice versa.

Thanks for the suggestions. Substack has limited formatting options so no colors and only bold, underline and scratch-thru modifications to the default font.

The post is only text (with an occasional image) no filtering as Substack doesn't have a calendar 'widget'.

I'm playing around with a slightly different organization of the calendar section that will be released in a few days. Hoping it will make it easier for folks to more quickly view/review the events.

For the calendar specifically, while a list of events and dates is useful and a clear carryover from the print medium, could it perhaps be made available in a more digital friendly format? An ical feed of events that I can subscribe to would be awesome - that would let me add the feed directly to my own calendar, get updates as soon as you make them, it'd work really well. Something to think about...

Yeah that would be a fun option but Substack doesn't have a calendar 'widget' that would allow for different calendar-like views and exporting.

I'm working on a different way to present the calendar section that will be posted in a few days. Hoping folks will find it easier to view/review the events.

Hi Paul, thanks for the kind words. Presently the plan is to release articles on a weekly basis, but we are still getting a feel for what works best. Mostly we're just focused on providing a steady feed of interesting or entertaining content. We are also including some archival stuff. We're thinking about ways we might offer or include advertising or sponsorship at some point, but nothing set yet. No classified ads provision within this Substack platform, but we do still have our free online ads at the SCA main website: https://smallcraftadvisor.com/joomla_almond/index.php?option=com_aclassf

Josh, I'm confused. Although I hate to see the print version go away I understand the fiscal realities. My confusion is in the new digital format. Is it to be published (on-line) as a complete issue every month or every other month Or what appears to be happening now, an article every day or so?

What is to happen with the ads and the classified boats for sale?

In closing I want to show my appreciation (and that of many other readers) of the great job you have done in holding it all together, truly a service to this segment of the boating community. In addition your tireless concern in maintaining the production quality of each issue.
