Speaking as a person who is very hard of hearing and therefore shuns using his VHF since I can't understand what's being said... This weather text service is a great thing! Thank you.
Remembering having to tape record the VHF NOAA marine broadcasts so as not to mis the critical few moments out of the hour-repeating broadcast! And now that my hearing isn't what it once was, reading the info is even better! I'm looking forward to using this brilliant service as a dinghy sailor and as a local sailing instructor too. Thanks!
Reminds me of a time long ago when smartphones were new.
I was on a weeklong canoe camping trip on the Buffalo River with two other solo boaters. One had one of the new phones in a waterproof case and when the weather started to get iffy a grainy weather futurecast helped us decide to seek shelter quickly which turned out to be a very good idea.
Definitely on the "look into it" list, although the way they provide data isn't as machine-friendly as the usa/canada sources. Are you in that area? Always good to have on-the-ground early testers if so :)
This is the kind of stuff we need more of in the small boat community, and why SCA is such a great nexus for us. This has been posted to the RAID ERIE FB group.

Efn brilliant!
Blushing over here.
Took the words right out of my mouth. 😜
Absolutely brilliant idea. I will certainly be signing up for my next sailing trip in the Salish Sea.
Great idea! weather on small boats is always important. I'm betting you'll have quite a subscription list very soon.
Brilliantly idea, well done, and I hope this allows you to work less and spend more time with your Scamp.
This is awesome. You have created something very useful. Any plans for the Sea of Cortez?

Long overdue. It is good to have the software catch up with hardware capabilities.
Great work for the common good!
That is a big idea, and a beautiful thing! Thanks for all the work, Jean-Francois! Sharing this with my son who cruises Howe Sound and further north.

Thanks for the repost!
WOW! What a great success story that benefits our sport!
What a fantastic idea - thank you a million times! I love it that S&A can access it. Have you thought of sending it to the Coast Guard?
