I just got back to Madison wi from attending a wedding in AK, and as we spent time in Seward, I kept thinking about what an amazing trip it would be to spelunk all the various small towns and coves there, whilst cavorting with whales and otters. Sounds pretty dreamy. Retirement!!
A great read. We left SE Ak 18 years ago, still wish we were back. However, we (Wife and I) don't miss the tour boats one bit. Consider that, when I arrived in Ketchikan in 1976, the only "tour ship" was the Princess Patricia and she carried 300 passengers at most, usually far fewer and came through once a week heading North and return, and you can understand where I come from....
I did see one Wrangle, but later Wrangell, and thank you for getting it right!

Don’t wait. If not now, when?
Thick Fog? No problem. Just follow Snow Goose, and Bob’s Radar!!!

Sorry about that first Wrangle… long day!
You lived here at a great time, but aside from the cruise ships it hasn’t changed that much.
Great article. Keep them coming as you enjoy!
Thanks!
