Looks like Devlin's Owl is for sale...at Devlin Designing Boat Builders. Regretfully there are no Ranger Tugs smaller than 28 feet being built today...Do you see many Ranger Tug 21s for sale out there?
Yes, folks can view the OWL listing at devlinboats.com, but sit down first because the price isn’t cheap (!) Yes, it’s too bad that Ranger Tugs got two-footitis and abandoned the little 21-footers, perhaps because they weren’t as profitable as bigger boats they’re selling today. (By the way, Ranger’s smallest model these days is a 23-footer that’s unrelated to the 21-footers…and most of Ranger’s boats these days are designed for speed, not relaxation on the water.) Finally, no, we don’t often see the older Ranger 21 Trollers or 21 Tugs on the used market…but it happens. I’ll let you know the next time I spot one, if you’re interested. - Marty
It's interesting that the Ranger Tug website calls their smallest boat "R-23", but when I look at the spec sheet, I see 28 feet and change, with a swim platform and outboard... And the DRY weight is 3 tons. Doesn't sound like a very trailerable boat to me. I love the previous generation of trim diesel-powered RTs...but around the Chesapeake it seems like you have to marry well in order to inherit one...sigh. But I guess I DO need a reason for a cross-country road trip!
Just in case you wish to see more of the Ranger Tug R21EC, you will find my adventures on YouTube at https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNDjiTZjirh8k9ZChjFI_rqJDwHJy0SMv
Thanks for sharing, Marian! Looks like you’re enjoying your little Ranger 21… - Marty

Is Benford’s Tug Yacht still for sale at Port Ludlow?
Sally - I’m not sure, but will try to find out. - Marty
