I am similarly on the fence between the two. I wish there was more info out there (youtube etc.) about the RoG, it certainly seem to tick all the boxes.
As to pets aboard, many decades ago I had a 26' navy whaleboat (1935 vintage) converted into a cruiser--not quite a small boat, but not a mega yacht either. I also had a siamese cat that came along with me as I cruised the San Juans and up to Vancouver, BC. He had a tendency to walk the side decks as we were chugging along at 7 or 8 knots, which was a bit nerve jangling, but he was sufficiently sure footed. Once when we were tied up at the public dock at Cornet Bay (just inside the entrance into Deception Pass), he decided to visit other neighboring boats. I heard the people on one scold him and shoo him out of their galley drawers.
He was never shy around people, but hated dogs so much that he would go out stalking them. Every dog who encountered him was terrified of him. Once when I was working on my old VW van, a gaggle of little kids accompanied by a small dog walked by. I heard one of them say, "Leave my dog alone you bad cat!"
I almost bought RoG, but instead bought a Core Sound 17. I'll always wonder if I made the right choice.

Great to see this plan study on the RoG. Love it!
