My first sailing as a child was in a Penguin on the Chesapeake. I always wished for a small boat with skin, but what did I know. I didn’t know till this article that Phil Rhoades designed the boat.
You will probably get several comments about this- The large sailing vessel pictured and labeled the Balclutha in two photos above is actually the C.A. Thayler. The rigging of the Balclutha, a three masted square rigged ship, is in the background in these two photos.
