We’ve got more of your nautical Book Stacks on the way. In the meantime, here are a few comments we’ve received without photos:
“Like your reader David Weglicki, I too am addicted to Patrick O’Brian’s Aubrey - Maturin series of Napoleonic Wars novels. Long before I started sailing, I’d learned (and forgotten) so many sailing terms from these wonderful books. Tip: the Kindle versions allow you to immediately translate those pesky and fascinating sailing terms.”

“The Curve of Time is a really great book. Everyone should read it.” Roger Schneider
“What about Boat Building by Howard Chappelle and Plain Sailing by Dallas Murphy?” Gary Olson
“I love podcasts and audio books too. For example a while ago I listened to the whole Horatio Hornblower series (very easy to listen to)....The other day I decided I needed some diversion from the typical daily political podcasts and downloaded Sailing Alone....
Probably everybody’s read this at least once—but the narrator of this version is just fantastic. For me the narrator fits my mental image of what Slocum may have sounded like. Since the book is a personal narrative style, it just fits! Check this out. It's a very short book (around 8 hours) - and I was kind of sad when it was done. I almost always listen to a book when I'm in the shop or in the truck - this one is really entertaining!” Charlie Nichols
Speaking of book stacks—I had a suggestion to make a Book Stack page where folks could share and commnent on books on other subjects, not just necessarily nautical titles. Hmm…sounds like a fun idea. Click here to visit and subscribe to a new general interest “Book Stacks” page. Tell your friends and let’s see if the idea catches on.
At last a picnic boat you can actually use for a picnic!
I think the lower portion needs to be a hot tub.
