Skip Johnson may need additional evidence to prove to the Oklahoma State Trooper that his creation is indeed a boat. Nice job, btw. Not enough proas out there.
Actually the State Trooper, very nice guy, didn't even blink when he gave me a hull number on QB's predecessor, Trivial Obsession, a 17' trial horse to verify rudder and sail concepts.
Dang me, I have done a couple boats and thought myself pretty clever and then I see the amazing work being done out there and stand corrected. Wonderful projects!
My dad toyed with the idea of building an experimental plane - the two finalists where Burt Rutan's Bede-5 and the Osprey. He ended up buying a Cessna Cardinal 177 (non retractable) which was a great decision because of the time needed to make a plane at home.
Agreed. My dad could build things (patio, cement walkways, concrete block walls) but his heart was not in it. He was though, a natural pilot, the best I ever flew with.
Love seeing what everyone is doing! Very inspirational. I’m seeing boats I might not have been exposed to otherwise. Definitely time to move from dreaming to doing in my own shop!

Did anyone else notice that the shops these projects were in look as clean as my living room? A sign of a craftsman, no doubt!
What a nice sampling! Thanks for sharing!
I lusted in my heart for such clean and sometimes spacious shops.
WOW! Some great projects....such imagination combined with craftsmanship.

There's building and there's using and they are not always compatible. It's a wise man that knows the difference.
