How perfect they both passed so close to each other. Reminds me of Buckminster Fuller, who went to visit his wife in the hospital, saw her sleeping but thought she had passed, sat down next to her and died on the spot. She woke up, saw him gone, and passed. Such devotion. Guy and Rocky are probably already creating havoc in the High Reaches, cruising around -

I met Guy on Sharon's shuttle van the first Salish 100 I participated in. He lived a life far different from my office worker life and seemed a remarkably capable. His Monty Cat was unique with unquestionably the most color coordinated design of any boat participating in the Salish 100.

I am sad to read of the passing of guy and his wife. I was delighted to hear death only separated them by just two weeks, for I always thought how ending life with your partner so close together was much better than enduring life without your partner. I never knew of a partner I could love that much. Let's celebrate Guy's life and his happiness, for I am a survivor without a partner who had a Near Death Experience a few years ago knowing what awaits each of us when Life ends.

I still have messages shared with Guy, my yearly cruising buddy on the S100. He was the one I always looked the most forward to seeing. His way of innovating and problem solving was unparalleled, he was a true genius. And also one of the most generous people with his time and wit. The S100 will be a less interesting cruise without him.

You and Rocky enjoy Fiddler’s Green, my friend. Never a more fitting place for you to end up. Thanks for the laughs, the inspiration, and friendship.

When getting a tour of Guy's Monty 16 during a Monterey Cruiser Challenge, his expertise and attention to detail were obvious. Fair winds Guy.

Guy and I collaborated on a few kayak projects. He electrified a number of Pygmy kayaks for fishing and puttering around. A master at epoxy work. He taught me many tricks to make my boats better. Always a character. Faire winds
