From columnist Joshua Wheeler:
Bertram Levy’s Stevedore was launched yesterday. Video here.
At the other end of the spectrum, here’s a note and some interesting photos from Bernard Cadieux:
Our previous Potter, a 15, after a storm on Sept 15 2021. Pretty sad. Felt like I had lost a child (nearly). As luck would have it, found and purchased a Potter 19 in mid summer 2022.
Boy, things can go bad fast when the mooring does not do what it is supposed to do!
Regarding our blurb on Auto Captain, reader David Peebles writes:
With Auto Captain, it seems we will not even need to be on our boats any longer. Just let AI take the boat out, and report back on whether a good time was had by all ("all" being the AI agents).
Here’s the latest postcard from contributors, Gary and Karen Sack:
From Robin Hood’s Bay.
Robin Hood probably never existed so it's hard to prove he didn't live here
But this fishing village has been known as such since 1322. Used to be, elves were known as Robin Hoods...there were so many of them that the town was named after 'em.
The town is so steep and small there were no streets, only paths between the cottages leading up from the bay. Which made it a perfect place for fishermen, thieves, smugglers & elves.

When Prong is Right
Here is some background on the Prong design—curious and unique boat of the Three Rivers.

In the sweep rowing world that is known as a pair. Personally, I would prefer a double, which is a two person scull. I rowed a pair of numerous times in college, and both rowers need to be in very good, if not perfect, sync. In a double they don’t have to be. In fact, in a double one person can stop rowing entirely, and the other person can continue to propel the boat.
I’m not an asymmetric rowing fan or into a pram bowed boat. My sailing/rowing/paddling/motoring Saroca at 61 1/2 LOA is about perfect and will hold 900lbs. of men and or gear.
I could go for a similar boat between the Saroca or Sea Pearl 21 that fits that bill.
