One reader said he enjoyed the Cape Cutter 19 photos but wondered if we’d ever done a more complete review. Indeed we have—here’s the link.
Also regarding our Cape Cutter and aesthetics poll, reader David Bower wrote:
The Cape Cutter 19 is really pretty, but the boat that stole my heart the moment I saw it is the Welsford Pathfinder. If I had tools and skills and knowledge and time and enough money, I'd build or buy one. Sadly, I don't. But I did buy a third-hand Core Sound 17! Looking forward to making use of it this spring.
Regarding the Sander Stand tip, reader Robert Ayliffe responded:
Thanks for sending but this is a solution in search of a problem. Buy Festool tools and you will have orbital sanders that already quick stop, and hook up to proper dust extraction as well. More costly, but this stuff works so much better on all levels. And why are you still messing around with dead meat corded equipment? AAARGH!
About the Skookum New Year article we republished from B&B Yachts, reader Bob Cornwell writes:
As an ocean racing boat, I love this design. It has most of the modern thinking, but it is still simple, wholesome, and apparently strong. No fantsy bells and whistles, such as DS foils and canting keels.
Also, I think the size is nearly ideal for singlehanding. Smaller is sometimes better.
Looks like something I would find in a convention center at a corporate conference. Not really intended to work, just look cool
For a few bucks I'd buy one and play with it... but we're talking a FEW bucks!
