Flotsam & Jetsam
Your letters and such...
What kind of boat are you building? Send us a photo and description and we’ll share it with readers.
Send to josh@smallcraftadvisor.com
Also, if you’re building—or even if you’ve completed a build (or restoration)—please consider posting your project at our new sister website, www.boatbuilderlogbook.com. Or just poke around to follow other builds.
Presently you can register and build your logbook (3 photos at a time) with as much or as little supporting text as you like, creating a beautiful archive of your creation from your own My Workshop page. You can also cheer for other builders, comment on builds and contact other builders directly.
We’re adding new features every week and would appreciate your feedback and beta testing. Thanks!
Here’s an update from roving contributors Gary and Karen Sack:
They write: Mast is back up and we have a sailboat again:
The white cliffs of Dover (didn’t see any blue birds)
Our track across the English channel (the kink is where the tide turned against us)
We are now in Cherborg with a nice marina; it’s otherwise a pretty rough industrial harbor. It was the primary objective of the D day invasion and became the access point for all the equipment to fight the war.
Why did we come here? Next week!
Congrats to reader Matt Weiser who won the free copy of the Daughters of the Sea book. More giveaways soon! —Eds.

I love that this exists; going on it is... not to my taste (as we encouraged our kids to say rather than "I hate this.").
No way I could get my wife in that.
