The Herreshoff Coquina stole my heart decades ago but to abide by the words of Stephen Stills and love the one you’re with, I’m quite smitten with my Townsend Tern.

You asked if the Cape Cutter 19 was the prettiest boat I had ever seen? I answered, "No" because a boat is like a woman, which I have spent a similar amount of time with and know better not to fall in love with only my eyes.

For my needs I require a cabin, beit one with no headroom. The CC19 appears not to have much forward or in height to allow one to be added. I am a cruiser who is not interested in the fastest sailboat, but want the most comfortable to enjoy on the water. Instead of a "fast" woman or sailboat, One I can take home to the family! I require a safe one; one which will turn heads now and then, and is built tough and is safe. I want one which is not overdressed with sails or requires additional maintenance and handling or requires my attention to set each time we leave the trailer. Plus my sailboat or woman must have a nice bottom [right guys?], so it is hard to judge this boat without knowing more about the rest of her lines and profiles.

LOL ...I had fun writing this comparison. Jb

Check out these photos. A cabin she does have, albeit the V-birth is too short for adults:

Based on the ironclad fact that we only get one chance at a first impression, the catboat is the obvious choice. With its plumb bow, unstayed mast and wide hull it imparts simplicity and stability at a glance.

So many boats to choose from, but Kees Prins's Townsend Tern design is one of my favorites. My own Com-Pac Horizon Cat is also a sweet traditional looking modern fiberglass boat.

One was on last years Salish 100 and we sailed with and hung out with the owner and I did think this is the prettiest classic style trailerable boat out there.

Based on the last poll - the Cape Cutter 19 was my favorite .. because it most closely resembles my "little yacht" - a Compac 19. I think the Compac 19 is the prettiest!

If the choice is limited to trailer sailors, it is definitely in the running. If the field is expanded, Herreschoff's Rosinante would get my vote.

Liked the design as it is very similar to the Bay Raider boats of the UK which I think are best in this category of boat design.

These pics in the CC19 show the lines of the boat much better than the one provided in the "Trailer Sailer Asthetics" poll. Given one of these two pics instead of the one showing the CC19 from astern, I would've voted differently.
