One question: I can't remember exactly when the two Scamps idea became a single Scamp with both fellas aboard. The article does not really explain that. Andy?
Great story but I'm confused. Mike built two Scamps but you ended up going together in one? Why did you abandon the other Scamp? Did I miss the explanation in the narrative? Anyway, very good read. Makes me think twice about the EC though!
A side note because this older article showing up was a coincidence to me. A boatbuilder can leave a legacy. Just yesterday I was communicating with someone who purchased a hull started by Mr. Monies as a gift from his wife Jackie to shoot for an Everglades Challenge win, but not finished when he was diagnosed with cancer.

Great article about the Everglades Challenge, the Scamp, things to look out for en route. I hope I get a chance to compete before I'm too old to.
