You did well. The first hurdle is finding a place to build. My condo association does not allow projects, which is why Nereid is being built for me in the City.
You should add reef points. Mother Nature tends to sneak up on you.
I have found that scandalizing a small spritsail tends to make the sail next to useless because the material from the peak completely ruins the shape for anything closer than a beam reach.
Nice boat, looks like you did a beautiful job on it! I have never sailed one I suspect some reefing points will come in handy somewhere along the adventure! You are going to have a ball!
I love the simple yet gorgeous lines of your Punt. A job well done, for sure!! Please write us of the results of your first shakedown cruise with photos. Jb
It looks great and you never forget the first boat you built yourself or the first hours. Don't forget to christen it properly and leave enough in the bottle to stand in the water next to the boat for a while after the first trip, gently touching it and feeling what it feels like in the water when you move it. Just like holding a girl for the first time. You deserve it – now.

Good looking boat! Nice simple sail rig, and a very entertaining build story that many of us can relate to. Can't wait for the maiden voyage story!
