Before you go out and buy more tools consider using a sanding disc on a variable speed drill you probably already have. I find the sanding disc to be one of my favorite tools for making bevels and smoothing out problem areas in wood-epoxy construction. There is no need for a "magic" fit up. if a bit too much wood gets ground off just make up the difference with extra thickened epoxy.
I made a side handle for my drill-sander and its now one of my most used tools.
