Does the rule not have to many boats apply to boats being built? IMO, I think it’s fair to exclude from the rule- under construction, wind surfing equipment, paddle boards, canoes, boats under 8’.
Dylan Winter...next to B.Frank Franklin one of my favorite SCA Writers!! Hard to go wrong following his advice...hmmm...maybe not so much with B.Frank!!!!
Did you purposely omit "Never spit into the wind"?
When common sense is not fun any longer - - then by all means spite into the wind !!
Dylan is the absolute best.
Glad you dug one up from the archives!
His videos are top notch too!

Oh dear Lord, I need Plan C, and D, and E, and a direct line to the Coast Guard and DNR.
Two comments:
1) As a corollary to #9, never criticize another person's anchor unless it is an authentic safety issue. Sailors sure can get defensive about these!
2) Related to #6 and #10; be flexible and know that "Get-There-itis" is what often kills people! (Howard Rice taught me this one.)
Well conceived advise. ❤️👍❤️
PNM - Poly Navicular Morbus. That was a coffee-spiller.
