Stanley Wilson, sailing out of Lake Wawasee in NE Indiana, sent us this photo as a late addition to our Winter Boat Show series:
He writes: Not a very exciting photo but I like the composition. I’m in my Sage 17, #19 (Grace) and that is Southern Cross with Howard Rice at the helm. We are just out of Killarney, Ontario looking for some wind. The photo reminds me of all the times I’ve sailed in Howard’s company and all the small boat sailors on the group cruises. The Sage (Grace) is my perfect sailboat after a Potter 19, a Potter 15, a Snipe and an International One Design. We, Grace and I, have recently explored part of the Apostle Islands, Lake Superior, and look forward to more Great Lakes adventures. •SCA•
Look into going to the North Channel of Ontario. Lots of small towns to stop at among the islands and great places to anchor with good protection. Spent two weeks there a few year ago and could have stayed all summer.
Lite air drifting gives you plenty of time admire the view. Of course it's hard to make a destination, but who cares.
