This is my favorite season, and maybe my toughest.
I’m days away from finishing work on MOUSE, the camp-cruising gunter yawl I’ve been building for two winters—and the first small cruising boat I’ve had since the long winter of 2020, when many of us were forced into hibernation by Covid. (The same month we started masking, I sold a few small boats to friends and began what would become 18 months of restoration work on RAVEN, our 30’ Alden-designed motor cruiser. And then came 2-1/2 years of living aboard RAVEN while I started work on MOUSE, the little dreamboat that would get us back on the water in a small camp cruiser.)
