“I am building a Setka A, a 5m transatlantic race boat designed by a Polush designer Janusz Maderski , the next race is in 2025, and it has been run 3 or 4 times previously from Lagos in Portugal to Martinique in the Caribbean.
My website is https://setkacagarro.blogspot.com
I try to post every day, but some days it is just sanding, not interesting enough to blog about.
The boat is going to be built and outfitted as simply as possible, self-made hatches, self-made dyneema standing rigging, self-made windvane self steering—as little complicated electronics as possible, sort of like my previous Wharram simple inside as well. All my previous ideas will possibly materialise in this boat. It is built from scratch and it has taken since 15 feb to get to this stage, ready to epoxy gklass, and then flip, I have set myself a 6 month deadline to build it.
This is my 4th personal boat build, I have also worked on many other boat projects. Best regards from Horta Faial Azores, Nathan Levin. “
Jay Knight writes: “Here is a boat designed by Graham Byrnes of B&B Yacht Designs. It is a 24’6” cat ketch that I built. All electric, auxiliary is a Torqeedo pod drive, solar and regeneration. As you’d imagine, I am quite proud!”
“I know it is hard to see, but this is a full 16' layout of the profile of a Poulsbo Boat. The boat was designed by Ronald Young of Poulsbo, WA. He built over 700 of these boats in the 50's & 60's. I know there are few new ones close to the Kitsap peninsula where I live. Finding plans and building info has been a treasure hunt for me. I hope to see one or more, other than the museum, before I make too many mistakes.” Peter Van Sickle
“You asked! I just finished. Cascade 30 from frame kit by Clearwood Paddleboards.” George Brindle

Each one a gem!!
For Peter Van Sickle, Marty Loken wrote a monograph and IIRC drew the lines for the Poulsbo Boat when he was affiliated with the Center For Wooden Boats in Seattle. I will check my files to see if I have a copy. CWB also has a Poulsbo Boat in their fleet. You will find pictures of Poulsbo boats under construction and repair at the Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding (Port Hadlock WA) on their Flickr site. The Northwest Steam Society member boat KLEINER DAMPFER is a Poulsbo boat and can often be found at local steam meets. One of the Port Townsend Pocket Yachter members owns SCOT FREE, a Poulsbo boat. Finally, IIRC, there is a Poulsbo boat on display in Poulsbo at the marine museum just up the hill from Longship Marine.
