It’s mind-numbing to realize how much is going on right now. And regardless of views it’s easy to agree that we live in uncertain times.
As custodians of small boats, we’re lucky to have issues that never make the news: Paddle vs. Row, Sail vs. Power, Lugsail vs. Sprit Rig, or maybe the Big One, Wood vs. Fiberglass.
It’s comforting to know that 89% of us, from a poll I made up, just want to chill out, get along, and lose sight of all opinions as we glide across the water in our small boats.
We hope you have a calm, joyous, peaceful Fourth of July…and that you maybe, just maybe, get out on the water.
…And whether or not you go boating, here are a few images that might lower your blood pressure about those Paddle vs. Row squabbles.
Thanks, as always, for reading…and for remaining calm on America’s day. - Marty
As our guru said about days like this, “Start slow then ease up.” Enjoy the Fourth.
I'll be helming a grill and not a boat today. That's not so bad, really. And if I get a moment, maybe I'll splash some more paint on FIG. She's coming along. In any event, I'm ever so grateful for SCA as a harbor of refuge. Always there and always sane. Thanks Marty, Josh, and all. Happy Day!
