Reader Dave Dawson shared this lovely photo in response our request for summer cruising updates.
He writes: “My last outing in Terrapin was on New Jersey’s Barnegat Bay. Yes, there are many miles of shoreline packed with summer homes. But there are some quiet spots, too. The photo shows Terrapin pulled up on the beach at Cattus Island in Toms River. Shearwater is a Chesapeake Light Craft “Autumn Leaves” canoe yawl.”
Reader Mike Sheehan sent the following note following our interview with adventuring kaykaer, Paul Caffyn:
“Paul, I have perused your interview with SCA twice and I find it as good as it could possibly be. Congratulation on an excellent interview with the editor of SCA and the really dramatic telling of your harrowing otherworldly experience until you encountered The Ms Valerie. The transition from the wet, cold and wildness to the warmth, safety and a great meal staggers the imagination into the world of make-believe, but you accomplished it and thank goodness you did and have now put that experience to paper so that everyone can appreciate what a tremendous person and kayaker you are. All the best, Mike.”
