A few more book stacks came through. Here are a few of reader Ron Butterfield’s favorites. Some legends in there with Parker, Bolger, Herreshoff and others.
Reader Paul Topper sent the stack below with this note on his fun deep dive:
Here is a small subset of my library that is getting the majority of my attention these days. I'm currently coding a Velocity Prediction Program (VPP) for sailboats so that I can create performance polars for my sailboats. I also plan to use my VPP to evaluate design enhancements as well as determine the likely performance of other boats that I find interesting. Included with these are some e-books such as "Principles of Yacht Design", Larsson, Eliasson and Orych and the ORC VPP user documentation, which are perhaps the best references I have found so far on this subject.
Christopher Melendy sent a stack and this note:
Here’s one of my stacks for you. A few that everyone has but a couple that may be of interest. Particularly We the Navigators is an interesting one.
Also Self-Steering for Sailing Craft which I talk about on my YT here:
A few on the left side are for woodworking we all need in the nautical realm.
Of course I also have a whole library of novels (Swallows and Amazons, Jack London, Aubrey-Maturin series, etc.)
Thanks for your continued great work creating interesting and useful content for us small boaters. Frankly I was a little sad to see the end of print but I think you’ve done a great job with the new platform. Better than others that have attempted the transition.
About Steve Ladd’s article, External Versus Internal Challenges in Building (and using) a Boat, reader Bob Goad wrote:
This timely article as I contemplate a cargo proa build at age 69 on the beach here in Oaxaca (Mx.). His ruminations are very true and a thought provoking piece. Thanks for publishing this.
About the same article, and Ladd’s line "The lack of self-knowledge is just as dangerous as the lack of boat-building skill!” reader Ruth Marcus wrote:
BRAVO Stephen!!!! Inspiring.
Contrinbutor Mike Smith sent photogrpahic proof that he’s making progress on his microcruiser. Naturally we told him readers would like to know more. —Eds

I second the motion. Mike Smith, your micro project is of extreme interest! Please share details of the project.
I recognize Mikes project as starting with a Lido 14. I have a Lido 14 hull which I hope to do a similar mod on to have a mini solar-electric cruiser. I hope to end up with something like Joe Gretz’s Sunnyside which he built in a C-Lark 14 hull.
