Some of you will recall our recent giveaway of 3 handheld GMRS radios. Well, our friends over at Radioddity apparently appreciated the interest and support you showed after, so they’ve sent another 3 radios for us to giveaway—this time a great little Emergency Radio, their Raddy SH-906.
What makes the Raddy SH-906 great? First, the bands—the Raddy covers AM, FM, Shortwave, VHF and NOAA frequencies. Second, extended battery life. The 10,000 mAh battery capacity means extended use. Third, charging options. You can charge the radio via USB, the built-in hand crank, or via the solar panel—one way or another you can stay connected.
Additional features include an SOS signal, a strap-mounted compass, and dual USB outputs for charging other devices. The SH-906 is also built with IPX4 water resistance (can withstand splashes, but not submersion) making it a great fit on our small boats.
Radioddity is running a Black Friday sale all this month, so if you’re interested in any of their radios or electronics, it’s a great time to order. Click here for deals.

But in the meantime, Paid Subscribers be sure to leave a comment below to be entered to win one of the 3 radios we’ll be giving away. Thanks for your support! -Eds
I enjoy the short wave feature when overnighting on the boat. It is not as interesting as it used to be, but if you can catch the new on short-wave you'll get insights into how others view the world! I also enjoy a radio voice when riding out a storm through the night.
As some of you may be aware, I am a ham. That said, every option allowing you to holler for help is good.
Remember, though, the FCC requires a license for GMRS.
