Built in the Village Stable
Photos of a scratch-built SCAMP from the Czech Republic
We received this nice note from Milos Milner, who built his SCAMP #749 in The Czech Republic:
Greetings. I built a Scamp. I prepared the parts in a city apartment (Prague, CZ) and glued the boat together in a stable in the village. The construction took a year. I enjoyed the work. The best part is finding your own ways in the details and applying parts from older projects. I also enjoyed the inter-generational communication with family.
Thank you again for your support.
The boat serves well.
“From the first expedition at sea. We were in the Szczecin Bay for three days. The ship is sailing well, goes upwind, we are happy with it.”

There is a global brother/sisterhood of people who sail, or otherwise mess about in boats, who work with tools to build stuff, who need to be out in nature doing stuff, and who unstintingly support each other's endeavours. For a few minutes, these pictures put me in touch with that community, which transcends boundaries, culture, language and material wealth, and made me very happy. Thanks!
I'm entranced! Is that a (?wood burning) stove aboard a Scamp??
Who'd a thought it? Chris W
