Reader Pierre LaRochelle sent us the stack photo above—books he calls “some of my favorites—past, present, and future.” Lots of the heaviest hitters in the small-boat world: Bolger, Culler, Atkin, Leather, etc. I see The Junks & Sampans of the Yangtze in there as well—another gem. It might not seem super relevant but I’ve found inspiration there for lug rigs, simple construction, and shallow-draft boats.
Reader Rich Roberts sent us the stack above. He writes: “My first grandchild was born 3 weeks ago; so, I bought Arthur Ransome’s 12 book Swallows and Amazons set to give to him on his 10th birthday. Normally, advance planning is not my forte but this seemed worth it.”

I started the S&A series with my twins when they were 7. Don't wait until 10, and read them out loud. Very glad to see that you bought the nice hardback editions!
Mine is bigger...at least my book stack is---LOL! I'd take a picture, but some of my books are holding up shelves for my others books, and I'd hate to totally disassemble this collection. My wife barely puts up with this collection as it is. If I tear it down, she'll make me move it entirely.
